Derwenfa In The Community
We have very strong community links, and enjoy involving the community to enhance the learning of the children.
We are involved in writing a section in the Leeswood News, Performing for the Community at the Sunshine Cafe and planting bulbs with Dementia Friends Charities.
We attended the Cenotaph Service to celebrate and remember the lives of the Soldiers who fought for us.
We have now registered as a Flintshire Foodbank and able to issue vouchers to help support families in our school community. We collected food during our Harvest Service and collected an amazing 139.5kg of food! What an amazing community achievement!
We performed our Harvest songs, poems and prayers for the Community at the Sunshine Cafe.
We have been working with the Biodiversity Team to plant bulbs to enhance our community and encourage wildlife.
